Pros

  • Fun reminiscence for long-time CoD players
  • Plays on regular media stream apps
  • Impressive considering when CoD 2 was released

Cons

  • Just a trailer film rather than an actual game you can play

The Call of Duty 2 Movie is an action-packed seven minute trailer that may not be a playable game, but it's almost just as good. Call of Duty 2 added so much new content to the famous online first person shooter series that seeing a movie like this is just about as good as playing the game itself.

While it doesn't quite follow an exact plot the way that an actual movie might, the trailer does show some of the more famous additions to the game in genuine high-definition. Since at least some version of Call of Duty 2 has been available to gamers since 2005, many of these features are no longer new. However, they were revolutionary at the time of release.

Regenerating health and an icon that indicated that you were close to a grenade that was about to detonate were among the most important features that make it easy for players to pick the game up and start a campaign. The game is also well known for the unique ending, though it should be noted that this movie doesn't give the ending treatment away. That's good news for those who get inspired to pick up the title once they're done watching the trailer.

Computer graphics have changed quite a bit since Call of Duty 2 was first released, but considering the classic vintage WWII-era setting, the reduced visual acuity of the title works quite well for it. That makes the trailer every bit as impressive today as it was when it first got released
